Hi all, just moved to Clitheroe and looking for some riding buddies / someone to show me around. I’m in to all kinds of biking, Enduro, XC and have just got a gravel bike… I’ve been around Gisburn trail centre and have started to explore Longridge fell so far. Keen to see more of the great country side round here and hopefully meet some new people. I’m neither fast or slow, fit or unfit, competitive or not competitive. Just like biking! Cheers

The usual Monday Night Pub Ride lot do stuff over that way or certainly routes you'd be able to get too quickly enough. You're 20 miles and 30 minutes away from me in Ramsbottom.

If you message me I can add you to our Whatapp group. Its mostly discussion about beer and total nonsense, but we do go out and ride bikes occasionally, mainly on Monday Nights 🙂

Heres a pic from a few years ago of a fantastic summer run up Pendle Hill, on your doorstep. Memorable for @duncancallum hitting 45mph with no chain or rear mech on his bike, as he smashed them off at the top

Quite possibly the best photo I've ever taken. The joys of being rear gunner 🙂

I live in Longridge and ride the fell regularly. PM me your details if you like and I'll let you know when I'm going out, usually early mornings is the plan. I know most of the tracks and bridleways in the area (although bridleways are a bit thin on the ground) but there are a few decent XC loops that you can start and finish in Clitheroe and if you're game Malham and Settle aren't too far away as a good start to getting into the Dales.

@BenjiM and @binners I’ll PM you both!

@plumber, I’ve moved up from Hertfordshire, I’ll be glass half full and say that it’s tenfold better than there!

Born and bred in Lancs and having a good proportion of my family living in the Ribble valley, it took a friend from Surrey to point out to me (at the tender age of 42) that you can read it as Clit-Hero. She thought it was hilarious, I felt slightly ashamed I hadn’t spotted it earlier… So enjoy yourself riding up the Ribble valley and revel in being a clit-hero.

On a non-cycling related note, I do hope you’ve been availing yourself of one of your fantastic local amenities….

I don’t live in the area now but some good downhill trails with an easy pedal back up in Sabden so not too far from Clitheroe. They’re pretty full on so be warned. Have a look on trail forks to give you an idea. There’s more tracks there than it shows on trail forks.

A Canadian friend about swallowed her own tongue when we drove past.

Ever since I've been looking out for the Xbox accessories to supplement my Guitar Hero collection.

@stumpyjon, happy to lend a hand, do you make dig days public on Facebook or something?

@binners, slowly working my way through the Cowmans sausages!!

@gavjackson1984, I’ll take a look. I like techy stuff, need more practice though, Sabden on YouTube looks fun but I’m sure steeper than it looks…

@rubymurry, I’ll PM you, all sounds good and local
