I have a very simple problem with Ableton, but I can't figure it out....
Basically, I'm not getting any input audio at all.
I also have Logic and I can monitor, record etc no problem... but
with Ableton..
I have my audio interface set in prefs, audio track record enabled, monitor set to record input 1 (my mic).... but.. nothing!!
I've posted on Ableton forum, no replies.
I've cursed at my dog, no help at all there!
I've even restarted the Macbook and drunk beer. Even that didn't help.
Please ST forum.. help me! I ride bikes and everything!!
Just to confirm - Is Logic working OK? Trying to work out if it's an audio interface issue.
Try unplugging audio interface, preferences to internal mic & see if you're getting anything?
Track armed?
Can you see the level indicator registering input from your keyboard or midi device etc
Before you even arm it can you see any input? On the mixer strip:
Audio From
Ext In
Should be able to see level indicator registering when you talk / type if preferences set to internal mic
Yup.
Logic fine. Can record monitor etc. All good.
Exact same gear.
I can have both programmes open and Ableton doesn't play ball, but Logic is a happy dog.

Yeah MIDI is fine. I can drag audio into the sampler and that works.
I can hear click and everything coming back at me through the audio interface.
Could it be anything to do with Rewire?
actually ignore that, just seen your screen shots. Should work (although just leave on auto, it works well.)
Only think I can think of is you're plugged into input 2 on your audio interface instead of 1?
(also, 512 on the case is too much, lower that to 128 or 64 if you can, for lower latency.)
Ok so a few possible ideas:
- not teaching you to suck eggs but just checking you know you need to arm the tracks & then hit record?
- your audio interface, does it have an app with it. If logics receiving audio it should be fine but check in the app that it’s all set up correctly
- maybe don’t have Logic & Ableton open at the same time? Some CPU’s don’t like that 🙂
