Have recently felt as though toes on my left foot overlap, they don't (although they are a little crooked) but the 'feeling' is there virtually every step and feels as if the 4ht toe presses on the third toe (as I say, it definitely doesn't)and while not painful, its irritating so much that have curtailed my daily walks. have tried to get a GP appt but never any slots so went to a private chiropractor. Bloody useless, ended up saying she has no idea but did write a sentence or two for me to get in touch with GP electronically and try to get an xray/ultrasound. She 'thinks' it may be a bit never impingement on one of my toes but other than that is just guessing.
Anyone experienced anything similar, as I say its not painful but is driving me mad.
Probably worth paying to see a podiatrist. Chiropractor is woo woo generally. As a gp I’d send you to a podiatrist but wait times aren’t good right now. Could be a Morton’s neuroma or some arthritis at the metatarsal heads but either way insoles are the likely answer
I cant offer advice, but an orthotist would be a good option. A friend is a specialist in feet, and issues related to them, based near Chester. Have a look. If she's too far, it would be worth looking for someone similar.
Thanks for that, I thought a chiropractor and podiatrist were the same thing (indeed, she has chiropractor/podiatrist on her door lol)..but I'll look into this, thank you.
Looking at the Mortons, my pain/irritant seems to be more at the pad of the toe, whereas the Mortons seems to be more middle of the toe (going by the photos anyway)...
I'm not sure about podiatrists, chiropractors etc, but orthotists are very different I believe. It's a degree level area of medicine, and from all accounts very effective with the right application. I believe its quite different to seeing chiropractor. Worth a look, I'd say.
I hope it helps!
Are people confusing chiropractors (back/spine/skeletal issues) and chiropodists (outdated term for podiatrist)?
^^ this
Surely you mean chiropodist…? I mean I guess it could be a displaced sensation from something in your back, but seems unlikely…
Yup, my bad, initial post should be went to a chiropodist, not a bleedin chiropractor fgs!!
Ah yeah chiropodists like to be called podiatrists now. Orthotists provide orthotics, I thought usually in the advice of orthopaedic surgeons. Podiatrists do a lot more than treat corns. When does an insole become an orthotic?
