My mate Jim is selling up. Cantle is an awesome spot. Anyone got some spare change?

Maybe, but despite the image that most STW'ers are wedged, Audi driving, IT managers, I suspect this is out of their league...

ONE million ?

god, that's pretty cheap (for what it is - I'm not about to make a cash offer)

All IT managers earn enough to buy that house.

(And when we did a survey here a while back, it turned out most STWers work in the health service)

Hmmm, a quietly unassuming little place in the country, I might make an offer... 😉

Each room is a theme - this is the lion, the witch and the wardrobe one.

I've always loved that place. I swam past it back in August (on my way up to your place - got out next to your little harbour) and thought the view must be pretty epic from that conservatory strapped to the back.

How long has he had it - it wasn't always so up together (or didn't look it from the road).

He has been there about 8 years+
Runs a business as coach/trainer/psychologist from the place. He is brilliant at what he does, but time to move back to places and people he knows well. It would make the most amazing hotel for someone.

I was about to make an offer, but I'm out now.

If this had come up in 10 years time AND I had inherited/won/stolen a massive lump of cash I would have been seriously interested.

IT managers can't afford to and won't buy that house. Looks stunning though!

Looks like he's using it as a B&B?

He uses it as a training and coaching centre for senior leadership people. I had a chat with one guy there last year, discussing my old business in construction. He seemed knowledgeable, and I asked if he too was in construction. He replied that he ran B&Q, so yes he was in construction....

That bedroom is pretty tacky, but the library more than makes up for it - I can imagine myself there with a decent book, glass of scotch to hand, fire blazing and watching a storm across the water... pretty much perfect!

Anyone lend me a million or so? Promise to give it back!

here's what roughly the same would get you just outside Brighton;

Nice house, but I've heard the neighbours are awful.

One million in Dorking might get you this - needs some work but looks rather nice on the outside; should probably be converted into flats I guess.
