I bought this comic weekly around 1978 - 80.

My fave strip was about people who'd had clandestine surgery to implant small nuclear devices which would be detonated remotely under certain circumstances. There were lots of small mushroom clouds!

Anyone?

Sounds something that might of been Action, that merged with Battle.

It was The Crunch!

Only lasted for a year, story was called The Walking Bombs......

I was gutted when it finished.

One of the first things I looked up when I got the Internet 🙂

Remember the little plastic hot rod cars? They were ace.

I didn't think that sounded like a DC Thomson story, more like the stuff IPC did.

I couldn't remember The Crunch but I remembered the free gift wrist band thing when I saw a picture.

I had the wristband with sticker set. I got so excited about the next issue arriving at Ollroyd's newsagents!
