Anyone on here a car (or boat...) bodywork and paint spraying guru?

I have a fibreglass bodied car - VX220.  Due to laziness on my part, it was left outside over winter resulting in some areas of paint cracking and falling off.

My intention is to get it into a bodyshop, who are sufficiently competent to get a decent finish which will last (garage now cleared, so car won't endure another winter outside).

Any specific things to be aware of when painting fibreglass?

Thanks.

Nothing particularly different about fibreglass over metal really. Any decent body shop will be able to sort it.

Good prep, primer and paint. Same as any car really.

The only thing I'd do differently is probably not bake the fibreglass as it can some times cause problems with air bubbles in the fibreglass and gel coat expanding

We also have a plastic car that needs a respray although its been years since i looked this stuff up if i remember rightly you also have to make sure that no water has penetrated below the paint and that the fibreglass is properly dried out.

Why did it crack in the first place? Reinforce if needed

Water-logged GRP can cause delamination, make sure that it's dry
