Looking at picking up a 2012/2013 Mini Cooper S.

What bike carrying options are folk using with them?

Can you open the hatch OK with bikes on the roof rack (thule proride rack)?

Had the same thought... and take it a tow bar isn't possible because of exhaust location?

Not sure about the 2 door ones (assuming it's a 2 door one) but a work colleague has a 4 door version that has a bike rack that attaches to the actual chassis rather than a tow bar. It's a proper Mini/BMW item so probably not particularly cheap, but gets round the tow bar problem.

I've a 2013 cooper works and managed to fit a 27.5 enduro bike and a 29er in at once.... wasn't pretty but it was doable, rags in judicious places

I am looking at the older 3 door model. Pref 2013. The new ones can't take a roof rack unless they have the rails fitted at the factory.

The centre exhaust is a limiting factor for a tow bar rack but it seems there are systems around but US based.

How did you manage to get two bike in godihatehills? No front passenger?

househusband off here uses a Seasucker on his Mini. It looks like it could fall off any moment but handles the M9 and twisty Highland singletrack roads just fine.

Not too sure about the idea of suction pads. I'm sure they are good but doesn't seem quite right.

Get the clubby - two bikes in the back fairly easy with the flat load space.

You have a woman's car!

Only times in the past 20 years I've been hit by cars - both were women driving Minis.
