I am looking for a new camera to capture action shot's, after a weekend at Corby's Adrenaline Alley with my youngest boy, on his BMX (he will grow up one day and ride a proper bike)I got fed up with getting naff pictures so I am looking to up-grade my camera, for something that can capture about 10fps at full resolution I am looking at the Fujifilm S2800HD or Fuji FinePix HS10, not sure what to go for, or do I go for something different?
How about a sony a55? It fits your requirements, but costs more than the ones you're looking at.
Yeah saving for the Sony a55 or a33 might be an idea, looks very good for action shots
Sony a33 is cheaper and is same but 7 fps instead of 10 (a55) and 14MP instead of 16MP (a55).
Sony are doing VAT back before christmas on the a55 by-the-way...
Sony A55 video looks pretty good too.
It's not very trendy but the Casio Exilim FH-100 is a blinding camera for MBing.
Part of Casio’s Exilim High Speed digital camera group, the pocket-sized EX-FC100 can shoot bursts at 30 frames per second or capture video clips at 1000, 420 and 210 frames-per-second. The resolution is low at those high frame rates but the super slow-mo video is soooo cool. Use the slow motion clips to analyze cornering and jumping technique or get awesome videos of your friends carcassing. To keep you from missing the shot, the EX-FC100 starts shooting before you even press the button. Pre-focus and keep your finger on the shutter release and as soon as you pull the trigger the camera saves the previous 25 frames, ensuring you get the shot. If you’re not convinced yet, Haro pro Eric Porter and Litter Mag / Vital MTB photog and videographer Shawn Spomer both own this pocket-sized speed demon.
