You really couldn't make it up! I thought it was Daily Mash but apparently it's just how things work in Switzerland!
woman denied Swiss passport because she's an annoying vegan
Interesting, but really less about veganism and more about being annoying. Still she wants to be a Swiss citizen and speak out about things she's thinks are wrong, hmmm.
How can you be a vegan in Switzerland with all that Swiss cheese?
Bacon.
There, I've said it.
I wish we got a vote about allowing our neighbours or not. That way the guy upstairs that smokes so much weed I'd probably also fail a drugs test from 2nd hand smoke wouldn't be there!
Now she has the rest of her days to ruminate upon her erroneous and annoying beliefs.
5kg doesn't weigh much and I'm sure she was lying about the cows necks being injured.
Bloody immigrant vegans.
I wonder if they'll tear up the passport of the Swiss agricultural scientist who suggested the same kind of thing:

I just annoyed myself simply by reading it. Cows are cows, neither happy or sad - and presumably a deaf cow tastes the same as any other.
*Edit: At least the woman in the OP seems to admit that she overstepped the mark, and that gives some hope that she will behave in future.
How did she get here anyway - I thought interstellar travel was impossible? At least those Alpha Cenataurans keep to themselves.
It's been made clear to her twice that most of the people where she lives disagree with her and will carry on doing the things she disagrees with, no matter how much she shouts about it.
She should probably heed their advice and go and live somewhere else, although she appears to be the sort of person that would find something to [s]campaign[/s] complain about wherever she lives.
[u]She's sort of fit in that Euro pOrn sort of way so on that basis they should give her a passport.
It's an outrage, they should allow people to be citizens like we do, on the basis of knowing the feast day of St David, the names of two roman forts on Hadrians Wall, and details of the invasion of 55BC.
I thought it was Daily [s]Mash[/s] Mail but apparently it's [s]real[/s] STW!
piglet racing sounds like great fun!
They've only got little legs, I reckon I could win that.
less about veganism and more about being annoying
+1. Weirdos being weird shocker. There was a woman in my hometown who stamped her feet about the loudness of the town clock bell - the town hall relented and had it replaced with a quieter electronic one - I don't know if she was vegan or not but I don't see how it's any different.
As people often say on here, what has the make of car got to do with anything?
Cows are cows, neither happy or sad
I've met a few sad cows 🙂
I'm loving being a veganuary hipster! Loudly criticising others for not feasting on mountains of rabbit food is great fun!
I'm also an ex-smoker, so quite used to decrying others for doing what I no longer do in a patronising and self-satisfied way.
Apparently we're the worst... Probly not as bad as cat aids, but it's something to aspire to.
I had a great night out in Red Lodge, Montana; piglet racing is indeed brilliant. Big American greasy burger, few local brew beers and a flutter on the exploitation of cute, fluffy, woofy piggies all for my self indulgent entertainment. What's not to like?
Did they squeal?
They sure had pretty mouths.

No coke? No hookers? No guns? = No like.
Sounds like the annoying townies who move into cute villages and then complain about countryside smells, tractors on the roads and churchbells on Sunday morning.
..and cyclists
Well yeah but they ARE a pain aren't they?
I've been here nearly 5 years.
I never ever seen any piglet racing....
.....I'm obviously going to the wrong parties.
I think she should be allowed to speak her mind on the issues of animal cruelty that obviously matter a great deal to her. She's obviously not desensitized by the prevailing modern culture that treats many living creatures as nothing more than food.
However, if the town is allowed to vote against people for whatever reason they like, then that's fair enough, them's the rules.
