Righto, the other day i woke up with a stiff neck not uncommon but what is uncommon is now, 5 days later i'm still writhing in pain and off work! 🙁
Day1 and 2 i could cope, day 3 i couldn't drive to work and pain medication wasn't working at all so i went for a physio session which improved movement but pain still the same.
Day 4, Dr appointment, Dr prescribed Diclofenac and Dihydrocodeine 4 times a day and this barely takes the edge off.
It feels like someone is stabbing me in the shoulder blade repeatedly pain goes from the top of the back of my neck, trapezius, deltoid and part the way down my tricep. Occasionally i'm getting pins and needles down my arm.....could i have a trapped nerve?
Any ideas gratefully received, yours in pain JB 🙁
Could be nerve root compression secondary to a disc or other causes, brachial neuritis maybe, radial nerve compression although unlikely along with many other things.
Diazepam may be worth a try if you can get some prescribed.
Maybe if you went back to
Dr useless
and told them that
Diclofenac and Dihydrocodeine 4 times a day barely takes the edge off
then maybe they may advise you of a better course of treatment.
Did the physio not suggest what it may be ?
Try some Volteren gel stuff, may ease the pain a bit.
Muke - only been on the prescribed medicine for 1 full day and Dr's don't tend to open on weekends, rest assured i'll be back on Monday morning if still the same......
Myself and the Physio assumed it was the re-occurance of a previous neck injury he had treated me before but its becoming apparent this is now different.
Jet26 - sounds serious! oh dear.....
Cat AIDS; the bad type?
Amputate, just above where the pain is!
Sounds like torticollis. Probably needs a cocktail of drugs to relax the muscles and then a good chiropractor to straighten you out.
I had this few years ago and would have gladly paid double or triple for the relief from the chiropractor!
Neck Worms.
Chiropractor = snake oil
