Always seemed like plenty of family activities in Morzine. Can't compare with Annecy, though.

I've not been to morzine. Having been to Annecy twice, it's very nice but spread out and not a huge amount for kids.
I'd recommend Le Grand-Bernord which has a great outdoor heated pool and other bits and pieces within walking distance of the town.
If you're willing to consider Austria, I'd also recommend Saalbach.

Of the two Morzine would be my choice. Good swimming pool, two bubble lifts from the town, lots of nice places a short drive away for day trips. Annecy is a nice town, but much bigger and lots of traffic.

Never been to Annecy but Morzine is great for families, we've been twice and would happily go year after year if it wasn't so hard to get to.

Lots and lots to do, there's usually a big group of kids playing in the square most evenings in sight of the bars and restaurants if you're happy to let the older ones roam a bit.

The downsides are the usually lottery with the weather and the fact you'll spend all day watching dozens of not hundreds of riders heading to the lifts and you're not one of them.

Kids of 7 & 9 vears old here. We love the Morzine area. Lots of walks etc. Very scenic.

Weather not guaranteed so recommend space to occupy yourselves indoors in case of rain.

Sounds like Morzine it is then! Large Mutzig for the kids and they'll be lovely and quiet all night, too!

Have been to Annecy the past 2 years, loads to do in and around the area. As said above it can be busy at times with traffic.
We flew into Lyon and drove to Annecy in a hire car, took about 1h45m and we stayed at the Adagio Apartahotel which is near the train station and has parking available for guests. Never been to Morzine so can't comment on that! HTH.

I first visited Morzine with my kids when they were a similar age and they loved it. As adults they still do despite not being that fussed with MTBs nowadays. They are grown-ups, so they can occupy themselves whilst i go ride my bike.

Annecy is OK for day trips but whilst being very pretty never got any of us particularly excited in an 'Oooh- Please can we go to Annecy, Please PLEASE!?!?!' type way.

It's easily driveable from Morzine if you do want to visit though.

Morzine is such the perfect family mountain holiday spot I got my own little place there. Boys are 6 + 9 and thoroughly love it, and the older they get the more they can do.

Big pool complex, great walks, ice skating/hockey, easy cycling/mtb trails as they grow, rivers, lakes and forests to explore.
