[Closed] Ankle pain, anyone had this?

Before I start, I know i need to go and see a doctor about it and i will be. Next week hopefully, the kids have counselling tomorrow and Friday. Just thought I would ask.

I tore a ligament in my right ankle a couple of years back and posted on here about it at the time. Ideally I needed an operation to sort it but couldn't realistically be off my feet at the time, and still can't really. Painkillers as and when needed to ease the pain for now.

Now the other ankle is playing up. It has been for about 3 months and has gradually been getting worse. This pain is completely different. It is centered just below the outer ankle sticky out bone, tender to touch and is like a sharp stinging pain. If i tilt my foot in any angle it sends pain through my whole ankle, if i twist my ankle (foot flat on the floor and turn my leg at the ankle) it sends shooting pains up my leg. Anything worse than a normal step is painful.

I haven't knocked it, twisted it, bashed it or anything else I can remember. I just put up with it and get on with things as usual. Any ideas?

Like i said, I will go to the doctors.
