As in living and moving, rather than for holiday
Potential for me to move there for work for a couple of years. Currently living in a far flung west facing coastal location so used to rural beach life and honking weather…..
job would be more rewarding but family very settled here.
have the option of commuting, leaving family here and being a Monday-Thursday type with a Funnish 2 hour commute
anyone currently residing there and can talk me / adviseone way or the other. Am very very very conflicted!
If you go there with a mindset of blending in you'll be fine. If you go there with a superior attitude you won't
My parents moved there in 2008 but they were still working. They love it but they're just normal people and don't have high opinions of themselves. Other neighbours haven't taken to it due to their attitude towards others. Many "incomers" struggle with that aspect.
Welsh is first language in many schools and homes so kids could struggle if they don't speak it
It's undoubtedly a lovely place that can get busy in school holidays but it's nowt compared to Cornwall
If it's only for a couple of years it's probably not worth relocating and upsetting the kids if they are happy. If it's forever that's very different.
As a very frequent visitor, just make that reliable internet isn't important, but the place is lovely.
We were looking to move there but there is too many English people now
