My lovely shiny xperia z3c has stopped playing through the right channel. I've tried it with a variety of headphones to no avail 🙁

I'm in work at the moment so cannot access the android forums.
Any suggestions?

Does your phone have that diagnostic tool?

On my Xperia T, it's an app called Diagnostics and can check the speakers/earphone sockets are working as they should be. Not sure it finds all faults, but worth a check....

Can you try using bluetooth headphones, just to eliminate the possibility of a software/settings error.

This happens very occasionally on mine. I usually just stop/clear the music app, remove & re-insert the headphones. No doubt you have found that doesn't work on yours anymore, although I thought i'd just dropped my phone too many times TBH!

None of the above seem to work, although I havn't yet tested it on bluetooh speakers.

Unfortunately diagnostics doesn't cover the headphone socket.

I'd guess that to be a physical fault, but. Is it all sound, or just one app?

Grot in the socket perhaps, as Woody suggested.

Rebooted it?

Factory reset even?
