My browser always gets sluggish, I check app killer and tons of apps are running that I've not launched. It's meant to be killing them anyway.

WTF?

I use advanced task killer, set the autokill level to aggressive and get it to do it every half hour, and don't have a problem with phone slowdown.

I'd suggest ditching the inbuilt browser (regardless of your phone) and either going for Opera (which is very fast but a bit buggy) or dolphin mini and using one of these.

It's Google keeping tabs on you.

Browser sluggishness is often caused by page content. One of the advantages of being a Premier member on STW is that you het a lot fewer processor intensive tasks.

Use of a App Killer is the subject of much discussion. Most reckon you should avoid it and let Android take care of paging.

I reverted to the insult browser after using Opera for a while. I found Opera was taking up too much phone memory, preventing me from installing some apps.

Lose the task killer and get something that clears the caches and other stuff, like History Eraser.

Oh, and laugh at Count Apple, I believe the 'we know where you've been' thing was an iPhone issue...

"they" say you don't need an app killer if you're on version 2.(?2?)

could try <something that's not allowed to be said on here> ?

Try downloading Opera Mini. It doesn't run flash but it is much much faster and lighter than the stock android browser because Operas servers compile the webpages rather than your phone having to.

Then when you want to view a page with specific flash content, iplayer, freecaster etc use the default browser (or download Dolphin and try that)

BTW how can this be due to the browser?

It's clear that the self-starting of apps that is slowing it down no?

Apps which have "started" but are not being used shouldn't be slowing the system down. What apps are you seeing listed?

Oh - switch off Auto-update on apps too. Most worse than being on a slow connection and then Flashplayer trying to download a 10mb update!
