My phone has just been repaired and returned to me...before it went off I backed up to SD card.
However, now I'm trying to restore from the SD Card, it wants a password.
I'm on attempt 4 or 5, having tried my Google account password, my Sony account password, and a PIN I use for some stuff.
I've used Android Device manager to remotely change the phone screenlock back to a PIN (it is normally set to a pattern).
I can access all the stuff on the SD card via filemanager or on the laptop.
Is anyone able to tell me what account the password would refer to, as if I re-attempt my Sony and Google passwords I'll soon be on +10 attempts and not sure how many goes I get before it blocks something (and probably erasing my NI number and bank accounts in the process 😉 )
Edit - nothing critical on the backup, but there might be next time I want to restore the phone!
restore?
Last time my nexus went off I think I either just ran through the my app list in play or it did it for me. Everything else comes down from the cloud. I think I was up and running on my new phone in about 30 mins.
So no idea what the password would be sorry.
Yeh sorry, the menu option is backup and reset, but its the restore option that is requesting a password.
A lot of the restore stuff is call/text logs, wifi passwords etc.
Bump for the evening crowd 🙁
Definitely not my google account password, attempt 5 now and it's started a timer between attempts.
Anyone know if the password is specific to backup and restore, or shared with another login?
