I've downloaded a few apps to my Desire to replace the shockingly bad ones that come as standard.
The latest one is K-9 eail which is much better than the standard email system. However the icon to access it from is literally a cartoon K9 (like that is linked to email ?!??!). Is there some way I can change the icon to the standard 'Mail' icon that comes on the phone?

Sorry mate - I found something on a developer site which probably wasn't relevant.
Surely you'd just "get your eye in" soon enough and naturally get the right icon?
Not sure if this applies to the Desire, but with the Hero you can download something like Home - and then customise all your icons and other stuff. Might also have to root the phone though - can't remember. CHeck out the Android forums.
What on earth are you on about. The gmail client on android is the best mobile mail client out there by miles!
