Looking to make myself one of these but I have no idea what size bucket to use as I don't know how much it will end up weighing? I want something heavy enough but also might need to move it into place (can use a few friends if needed) Anyone done this before and have any advice?

You can go pretty blood heavy if it has a round base and you can roll it on its base to maneuvre

Depends what you are trying to anchor. When I used to fish a ressy with local angling club, we made a few anchors to go in the boats using 7.5 litre plant pots. One at each end of the boat, and they seemed to stay put in mild conditions. Cannot remember the weight of each one though. We set in the top of the pot a short piece of chain, then attached the rope via a caribener.

We use concrete buckets as anchors for our boat park, have done since God was still figuring out what a human should look like.

Normal bucket from BnQ, sand/concrete mix with a strap (U bolt) hung from a piece of wood on top of rim so you’ve got a u shape to tie down.

No real need for the bucket, once the concrete is set the bucket can come off and be re-used.

Its not just the bucket that’s the hold down, it’s the depth you dig for it that makes a big difference.. and then tightly pack soil over the top.. we dig ours down about a mtr.

Roughly 25 pounds per gallon IIRC.

Concrete is approx 2400kg per m3, so a standard Builder's bucket of 14lt will weigh approx 33.6kg.

Is this to anchor a boat or to lock something to?

If the former, depends on size of your boat but a normal bucket will do, you can add spikes to this for extra grip.

If the latter, bigger the better, look for a blue food barrel/drum with the snap lids. Weighs a lot but can be moved short distances easily enough (around a garage for example).

It's to lock something to. I think I have a 40L bucket handy so I may go with that. Should be around 80KG?

Why? Can a shed floor not handle the weight of an average adult male sat on the floor?

Not permanently no - the wood starts to give in the area where the weight is concentrated.

I used a 30l plasterers bucket. Chain threaded through an old cast iron gutter corner piece. Corner piece has an upside down 'T' shape welded to it which anchors it near bottom of bucket.

I have a garden trug filled with concrete and on old D-lock set in it for locking bikes to in the garage.  Work a treat.
