The man, the icon, the voice has passed.
For me he'll always be Darth Vader, but he had so many outstanding roles.

May he rest in power.
Ah man, that's sad.
93. Not a bad innings.
That IS sad. 🙁
All this stuff just chips away at bits of my childhood. : -(
: ( RIP JEJ.
It was all so traumatic he developed a stammer that lasted into his teens. It got so bad that, for some time, he was unable to speak, and communicated only in writing.

He makes this work perfectly.
I always remember him for Roots, probably because it was the first thing I remember seeing him in. But yeah, Darth Vader was such an iconic role.
He had what could quite probably prove to be the greatest voice in all of history.
I am genuinely struggling to think of anyone else!
Morgan Freeman?

Think people with other native languages might debate this one...
And I'm with @hightensionline - Coming to America was his finest film 🙂
rip mr jones 🙁
he was the first guest to star on sesame street
This clips nearly as old as YouTube - it's quite good fun - but it shows why his voice worked so well in that role. A sort of authoritative wisdom thats been earned. Starwars would later go back and make all the backstory to the character - but it was served better in peoples imagination just with the voice
For some reason I found this ridiculously funny when I first saw it (and still do):

Fun fact: TBBT is the first time they actually met. JEJ was doing voicework so wasn't on set during filming.
And when they met, Fisher ran up to him shouting ‘Dad!’
