At the moment we're into Trailer Park Boys, Danny McBride stuff, Flight of the Conchords, Limmy..

What films can you recommend in the off-beat comedy genre?

Caught "Shaun and the Dead" on TV last week (Halloween zombie special), I'd not seen it before and it was great.

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - a genuinely funny Steve Martin film with a 'cast' of Hollywood greats. Sadly doesn't get shown on TV very often at all.

Another Simon Pegg / Nick Frost double act film that's well worth a watch is "Paul". Sci-fi comedy.

Another vote for Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Starts out like so many other college kids vs hillbillies slasher rubbish, then takes a whole new direction and gets proper funny.

Appreciate these are not as per your recent films but offbeat in the sense they are foreign language, first one easily available on streaming services and really outstanding - comedy and a tear jerker based on a true story

Les Intouchables
Bienvenue chez le chi'tis

As per post above we enjoyed Frank, a bit weird

Edit: following up from DrJ Little Miss Sunshine (excellent) I really like Toni Colette and would add The Way Way Back, I assume you must have seen Muriel's Wedding

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid is a masterwork! See also Young Frankenstein.

However, on the offbeat angle, what about this?

Funniest film I've seen recently was Marvellous, not really offbeat, but heartwarming and Toby Jones is great in it.

More great comic duo films IMO:

The Odd Couple
The Producers (original)
Sideways
