One boxers career resurrected last night and another's finished! Kahn put properly on his arse!! Can't see it going anywhere for him now!!
Amir Khan't?
He always looked good fighting his way to the big league and enjoyed watching him, once he got there sadly he proved not to have what it takes and really never performs well enough.
Yep agree that's his shot at the real big time done.
From what I read he was on top early on and still landing punches after he was floored. I would like to think he has the skill to be able to adjust/improve technique to match the big boys. By all accounts he would be mullered by Mayweather now if he moved up a division.
Glass chin
if he actually boxed like say Sugar ray Leonard [ he has the skill and speed IMHO] he could win but he just goes for t which is daft with that chin of his
The punch that caught him was garcias main attack and he somehow got caught by it after owning the first two rounds and pretty much the third till he got tagged! Was surprised at roach sending him out in the fourth because he was still all over the shop!!!
You can train/develop all you like, but if you're chinny there's not much you can do. He certainly needs to learn to avoid punches better, but if you're susceptible to 1 decent shot it's almost impossible to avoid this for a whole fight.
Wouldn't go near Mayweather - the last thing Khan needs is to be going up weight divisions & fighting guys with bigger punches. Not quite sure where he goes from this, really
Ha Ha , 😀
If you have a weak chin surely you adjust technique to protect it more rather than go out all guns blazing.
A bit like Wiggins - if he went out attacking every stage he would be nowhere near the front but he now knows where his skills lie and his weaknesses are and rides accordingly.
I hope it's not the end as I think he's a nice lad and good role model and sport in general is poorer without folk like him in it.
He's got youth on his side, we never told Peaty he was washed up when he didn't win the worlds straight away.
If Khan were to try it on with Mayweather, Khan would be KO in 3 rounds.
Career in tatters? I doubt so unless he keeps losing from now on otherwise he just have to do it the hard way by fighting his way up again.
But he definitely do no want to waste his life away. No more big fight for him for a while so he better watch out all his earning or he would be in a catch 22 downward spiral i.e. no money, no good coach, no good coach, no win match, no win match, no going back to the top.
He got found out there. It's been coming as well IMO , for all the hullabaloo around his previous fight he didn't deserve to win that one either. Probably not career ending as a lot of fighters will fancy a poke at him now and that's his chance to claw his way back - Mayweather is a no no though , he'd knock his head off !

On 23 October 2007, Khan was convicted of careless driving at Bolton Crown Court and given a six-month driving ban and a £1000 fine. The conviction related to an incident that occurred on 2 March 2006 in the centre of Bolton, when Khan's car hit and broke the leg of Geoffrey Hatton, a pedestrian who was using a pelican crossing while Khan was travelling at 47 mph in a 30 mph zone and overtaking in the wrong lane
From wikipedia for reference.
Are you serious? A good role model?
[Edit]: Maybe he's cleaned up his act a little, but he always seemed a jumped up little tool to me.
Yes we all survived early adulthood without doing anything stupid and certainly not in a car.
FWIW he did a event for a youth club [ registered charity] for free one evening
Seemd like a nice enough bloke to me.

Are You serious? One bit of flipping silly driving?
Get a grip of yourself.
That does probably finish him off as far as the elite level of boxing goes - chink of light for him is that there's so few world-class fighters in the UK that he has a lot of recognition, can put a lot of bums on seats. If he can make money he can still probably make fights.
I see Carl Froch is stating that it's all over for Khan. Froch is the best UK fighter right now, but facts are if the two of them walked down the High St no one would know who Froch was, whereas Khan would be a well known face.
Cheers Wrecker
Hey I have been known to be wrong, hence the hastily added edit to the original. If he has indeed grown up then fair play, apologies all round 🙂
Pah
This is not the STW argue for three pages then claim the Edinburgh defence 😉
Sooner Kahn gets rid of roach the better, big name trainer blah blah, but he's part timing it with Kahn!! He's still got the speed but just needs to point it in the right direction and keep his ****in chin in!! Bring on the beast that is the groves for big time uk boxing!!!
