Forgot how much I love that Aphex Twin tune, thanks.
This past week I've been pretty much obsessed with Jon Hopkin's Imunity album. The ambient stuff on it is beautiful.
This is a reworked version of an album track.

Okay, would someone like to point out what I'm doing wrong in trying to embed video there?

SASHA AND DIGWEED
Also the back to mine compilations are great.
I love Global Communication 76:14.
The fourth track 9:39 is the best
Biosphere - Substrata is a great album for relaxing.
Kobresia is one of my favourites and when I play this at home on the hifi it really makes the woofers move in and out in a strange way!
Biosphere - Substrata is a great album
Oh aye, it's superb - hugely atmospheric. Ace use of Twin Peaks samples, too.
Global Communication's 76:14 is one of my favourite albums - forever evocative (to me) of riding on the Wilts/Dorset border, in the summer before I went up to uni. Can hardly believe that was nearly twenty years ago... 😯
Hopefully posted on correct thread. I put this on a thread about the banking crisis by mistake.
Just in case you have not come across it before, Osmos (a game for iosandroid) is well worth ity for the music.
But its got to be chill out / klf, does it every time
Not listened to all yet but some lovely stuff so far. Keep em coming. 8)
try some Mirror System
Robin Guthrie ?– Drifting A.F.U - if you can track it down, ex Cocteau twins, this is special.
DJ food DJ shadow ambient mix https://soundcloud.com/strictly/dj-shadow-trip-out-dj-food-mx1
I cold find some real use for this thread. Insomnia nights are spent with my iPod Nano and ambient music drifting in and out of sleep.
Few of my faves
More chillout that proper ambient, however K+D sessions is a great album. Also try
Tosca
Aim
Darren Emerson Textures

One of my records of the year. Truly excellent.
Yeah. Aphex Twin. Nuff said.

Blew me away when I first heard them, I didn't know music like it existed.

An ambient thread with no mention of Pete Namlook (RIP) and his FAX label? Shocking!
I love a bit of carbon based Lifeforms, are they classed as ambient?
Dreamfish
The break at 4:30???
Sublime.
For DezB:
Ooh, is there a 10 minute version of that? 🙂
TWOS:
Something a bit more upbeat, but still horizontal 😉
This bloke is also in the Glitch Mob, some of his solo stuff as Of Porcelain is fab.
Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto
Richard Skelton. The sounds of Pennine moors.
One of my favourties from back in the day.

Pushing the boundaries of you might call 'ambient' this one.
Def check Drum cell out if you like techno, especially minimal/dark...
Have we done Machinefabrik?
Ps that ilictronix is a good one. Cheers for that.
Had totally forgotten about Stone in Focus. I've got incredible memories of waiting an age for SAW2 to come out, and then it being totally different to what I expected. And so much better 🙂 Here is a piece of Aphex Easy Listening.
