Well there is one for Netflix...
Got a note from Amazon Prime about Tales from the Loop early this morning so I watched one with my morning cuppe.
Quite liked it. Slow pace but gripping.
From the web:
Amazon has revealed that Prime Video's upcoming sci-fi series Tales from the Loop will premiere on April 3rd -- and it has bundled that announcement with a trailer. The eight-episode show is based on the paintings of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, who's known for making illustrations that combine stereotypical Swedish landscape with futuristic elements like robots and other advanced technologies. Stålenhag's illustrations have been published in artbooks and even served as the basis for an alternate '80s universe tabletop RPG also entitled Tales from the Loop.
The series, in particular, revolves around a town that's built above "The Loop," a supermassive particle accelerator that can make things previously only possible in science fiction possible in real life. It was created by Nathaniel Halpern (Legion), but Stålenhag will co-executive produce with Matt Reeves (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Batman, War for the Planet of the Apes). The show will star Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Iron Man 3), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones), among other actors.
Inspired to Ride. Also had a couple of Leigh Craigie docs on a similar theme
Saw Inspired. I liked it a lot. Suddenly its like there is nearly too much cycling out there.
Tales form the loop looks good, something for me to watch on the treadmill once I'm done with Ozark.
MTB - Klunkerz, MTB the UK story, Steve Peat Doc, Deathgrip
The Expanse (Sci-fi awesome) American Gods (Fantasy? seriously good) Lie To Me (oldie but a goody) The Boys (great concept)
Picard we thought was ok. Hunters was excellent. Started Treadstone the other night which is looking ok. Jack Ryan was my fave though - loved Tom Clancy's books so the series was right up my street.
Halt & Catch Fire we're enjoying.
Also watch The Expanse and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel (which i suspect will be either a love/hate choice) on Prime
Tales from the loop looks great, thanks
My Tip is "Dawn Wall". The best climbing adventure type film I've seen
First series of Jack Ryan was pretty good, second was...OK.
Man in the High Castle
Had too high expectations for Treadstone, I think. Pretty poor.
I thought Picard was very good, one for the older fans I'd say. The crossing was watchable nonsense. Kind of old school TV sci-fi. I must admit I often just go for old Parks and Rec or The Office. Still funny.
The Americans
The good fight is pretty good if you like lawyer type stuff
We've just started the latest series of Bosch having been waiting for it for ages. We liked the books anyway but I don't think that's a prerequisite.
And yeah, Jack Ryan for some spy stuff
Man in the High Castle
Ah yeh we watched that too. I enjoyed it but got to the point where I was starting to keep track of what was going on. Gave up a few episodes into the second series I think it was...
I'm still working my way through The Office (US), very good.
Great to hear Klunkerz is on there, that's gonna get a re-watch. Loved it but no idea where my DVD is.
Man in High Castle was v good IMO.
Picard was a disappointment, lost interest in Hunters - bit of a mess.
The Expanse is great, I'm glad Amazon picked it up. Nice, slow burn, inteligent sci fi. A rare thing these days...
Picard is really good, if you like Star Trek.
I enjoyed All or Nothing, follows various NFL teams behind the scenes, really interesting. There were also some about Premier Leagus football, I didn't watch these.
I also lost interest in Man in High Castle.
Turn: Washington's Spies - Very good if you like stuff from that era.
The Test and The Edge - Ones for cricket lovers.
Sneaky Pete
All or Nothing - I'm only on series 1 but good if you like sport documentaries.
Ray Donovan - Think you may have to pay for this now though.
Jack Ryan - Easy watching action, I liked it.
Another mention for Bosch
Ozark
Banshee
`Hanna I think was good. Better in the teen suburban drama episodes than eastern europe evil scientist ass-kickery ones, but I can live with both pretty well.
Ah great, just googled and it looks like there will be another season: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna_(TV_series)
Another +1 for The Expanse, best sci-fi since BGS.
Have also started The Americans, its good so far
Watched Sneaky Pete a while back and enjoyed Season 1, I'll need to pick up the later series
Did the Office US and working through PArks and Rec. Too funny and some much needed comedy.
Another vote for Bosch and Expanse both are excellent,I enjoyed Preacher but it might not be everyone's cup of tea
Seems a few enjoyed The Expanse as much as I did!
(Im)patiently waiting for Season 5
Loudermilk
Wentworth Prison
Patriot (only seen the first season and it was weird, but enjoyable)
American Gods
Into the Badlands
Goliath (season 1 is excellent, they get icreasingly meh after that)
Hap and Leonard was quite good
Still need to watch the latest Bosch and The Expanse
Is the Americans free on prime? Might need to watch it again. Its right up there with the sopranos I reckon and one of the very few programs which managed to pull of a satisfying ending.
Skid Row Marathon.
Hunters and Jack Ryan 👌
As above, Bosch is a winner, half way through season 4
