Briefly

Mrs GD has a Prime account
I have a bog standard Amazon login and a Google Play music sub.

The 2 offspring GDs will be getting a cheap tablet each. Long journey entertainment, bit of homework etc.

What I want to be able to do is allow them to access (including download for offline use) some music and video.

Music - I think I can open my Play account up to a family sub for a couple of quid per month extra. Unless someone has a better idea?

Movies - can we use the Prime service somehow? I think we can
(1) stream two different things at once.
(2) download any purchased movies onto two devices (so each of them could have a copy of Texas Chainsaw Massacre* to watch at bed time).

I think with Amazon Prime we can ONLY download "purchased content" (in contrast to Google play where you can download and hold content locally while you have a live subscription) and not Prime view for free stuff.

Am I right in thinking the maximum number of authorised devices for Amazon music and video is ten? If so we'll be fine with that in device terms.

Am I missing a better solution?

* Clearly I wouldn't let them watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre really 😆
