I can't see another thread, so here are a couple of things I've seen
K380 is a great keyboard https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Multi-Device-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Windows/dp/B013SL2712

And the Sony WF-C500 are decent for wireless earbuds for under £50 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-WF-C500-Wireless-Headphones-Built-Black/dp/B09FKGJ1CB

What have you seen?

I'd been thinking of getting a huge telly, maybe a 50incher, for my room so that I can actually see who or what is shooting at me all the time on my PS5. I thought there might have been some good deals, but nothing really springs out at me. Mind you, could just be missing them because of my dodgy eyesight!

Have you not learned yet that Amazon Prime days are just clearing old stock, or selling stuff fractionally cheaper than you can get it at other times.
You can see on camel those headphones have been that price before, and are not significantly more expensive elsewhere.
That keyboard has been cheaper at Amazon itself in the past.
Always use Camel when buying stuff from Amazon, and always check price runner etc

I’d been thinking of getting a huge telly,

From my experience big good quality TVs are always around the same price, they dont shift that much, again maybe end of line stuff might be discounted.

Occasionally Amazon has real bargains, but that tends to be not when they are marketing their 'sales'

As usual, it's Felix As Good As It Looks 120 packs of cat food. £30.49 for 120. Normal Price is usually about £38 cheapest on Amazon or Zoo Plus, upto £42

Compare that to a 40 pack in the Supermarkets, which is £15-£18 for 40.

Got 240 packs arriving. That will last 5 to 6 weeks until Black Friday deals when the discounts will be back. Four hungry cats.

So still a decent deal then?

But also forms part of the behemoth marketing machine that is Amazon. Persuading people to buy from them not always on price but based on beating the competition by setting up buying earlier, creating a hype around false 'best deals' and generally being pretty shitty.

It's a no to black Friday and other monthly pushes from me, and I don't buy from Amazon unless I have no choice.

Fair enough. They are very good at it though.

On the other hand, I just ordered a new Sony lens I've been after for a year or so. New price in the amazon sale is £100 below that of second prices on reputable secondhand retailers like MPB.

lol. Huge maybe 10-15 years ago? 😀

I got a couple from ElekDirect (the refurb outlet for AO I think) which were returns but perfect, with decent discounts.

I find that most things I buy off Amazon aren't sold by Amazon.

Amazon provide the platform for 1000's of small businesses to reach a massive market.

They make it easy, and I can't be arsed searching the internet, setting up new accounts, passwords etc. to save a quid or two on small items. Big ticket items I'll do some research of course.

I buy from amazon all the time, because they have absolutely nailed logistics, delivery and customer service.

I'll even buy from amazon sometimes if its slightly more expensive than elsewhere as IME online shopping is such a lottery of delivery timelines, courier companies and returns hassle.

Hovering over the buy button on a Kindle scribe at the moment and it's a cheap as they've ever been.

I'll probably wait until black Friday - when doubtless it'll be more expensive just to rub in that I waited - as I've suggested contributions to one from folks who insist on giving me something for my birthday.

Or you could just buy the same amount in tins for £30, and be able recycle the packaging 😀

I hate to say this, but I agree. We needed a new laptop battery. I ordered it late on Sunday night, it was delivered on Monday lunchtime. And I know that, if it didn't fit, it would be a doddle to return.

The Amazon devices (and Ring, Blink, etc) are probably the same prices they'll be on black friday.

These Retevis walkie talkies are excellent for family camping, scouts, etc.

Yup, our old tablet (just used for streaming and occasional browsing) is on its last legs. If forcing an updated OS on it tonight doesn't help then it's very hard to look past an £80 Kindle Fire 10

are the kindle fire tablets any good then?  I had a mk1 10 and the browsing experience was bloody awful.  so slow to load pages I actually gave up on it and bought another ipad.  was good for watching movies on though

I'm tempted by another ring flood, probably the lowest price I've seen them

I added a few items I needed to the basket a couple of weeks ago that had a reasonable discount on them. Four days ago the discounts disappeared. Today they’re back, but not even close to where they were just seven days ago.

The lack of consumer protection in the interest of sellers might be acceptable in backward colonies like the USA, but needs stamping down on here.

£30 of rear dynamo light for £7 here - warehouse deals can be pretty good for oddball things that the majority of customers don't want 🙂 I picked up the rackmounted one they had earlier

With rare end of line exceptions the good stuff from Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, etc rarely varies much in price.

The "bargains" are usually the next tier down, we made that mistake last year and bought a 55" Hisense one from Costco as there was a worldcup offer (£360 ish). It wasn't even the cheapest Hisense, but it was utterly rubbish, despite it's claims of HDR the colors it could show were completely crushed.

Cheapest Samsung at the moment was on Very for £440, take out the 12months interest free credit and they give you 10% cashback. Haven't figured out if you can use the cashback credit to pay off the credit or if i'll also have to buy someone a Christmas present.

Kids have the HD8, got two refurbs last year for under £40 each. Absolutely fine for netflix/disney/BBC, you can put in a MicroSD for more storage for offline downloads. Rubbish for games, while you can get things like roblox on there it runs awfully. There's a few of the apps available they use in school, Mathletics and the like which run OK. Obviously just the amazon store for apps unless you go hacking about with it. Parental controls can be a bit inconsistent, often when something like Netflix is running it won't cut in so need to keep an eye on time myself. Can't complain at the price really.

Replaced our old shared/family ipad with a 9th gen (the very cheapest they offer now) and it's massively better for games as well as the better app store etc.

Heard good things about the Fire Max 11 (which is £159 now) if you don't mind the Amazon experience.

Sorry @matt_outandabout I know amazon are evil but they are cheap, their deliveries are quick and the returns are easy. Saves me having to go shopping where I always spend more money.

Limited-time deal for Prime Members: Flexible Garden Hose Pipe 100FT, 3 Times Expanding Flexible Magic Lightweight Watering Hose Pipe with 8 Function Spray Gun/Solid Brass Fittings/Anti-Leakage Easy to use https://amzn.eu/d/a8gXmYw

Currently  £22 but there's a £10 off voucher. It's being delivered tomorrow.

Had one now for about 5 years. I've repaired the hose a few times where its snapped but it's still going strong. This one will take over next time it blows.

I really like them. Packs up small and pushes all the water out so even in the depths of winter I can still use it as it doesn't freeze solid like my traditional hosepipe.

the park ones are truely lovely. You still need a ball-ended set for awkward access, but they're my go-to and the colour means they don't get lost in the sea of other tools. I've never seen them below £100 - I'm just gutted the star set isn't on special as well.

Anyone seen any decent torque wrenches on offer? I've never used one so have no idea what I'm looking for, but think it's probably about time I stop cranking the shit out of every bolt on my bike and do it properly.

On the basis you're a occasional user the Lifeline one on wiggle crc @ £35 ish is pretty hard to argue against to be honest. [Edit For most bike jobs, no good for cassettes for example]

Jobsworth from PX is a bit cheaper (+postage) but I've never had hands on so can't speak to the quality.

I've got the park tools one, and more recently bought the jobsworth one on a special offer when they were £13 as I wanted one to keep in the car kit bag. It's just as good to use as the Park one - calibration is pretty much identical. So yes, I'd recommend.

That is a good deal, I picked one up for my hardtail about 6 months ago for about £45.

A word of warning though, the post works well enough but the anodising on the post itself is about half a micron thick. Mine has had hardly any use but is showing signs of the anodising wearing through at the back already. Think next time I'll spend a bit more and get a brand x or similar.
