Looking at buying something from Amazon.de in Germany as the UK Amazon done list what I want.
It's coming up as Prime when logged in so I am guessing postage is free, but as its supplied by Amazon.de how does the returns work if I don't want it when it arrives??
Are the returns as quick and easy as Amazon.uk?
Anybody done it?
I've ordered from there but never returned (you can just use same passwords as for uk account without setting up from scratch, I think)
The "my account" page looks just like the amazon uk one and there's a "return" button on the orders list. I guess you might have to pay for the delivery but don't actually know.
iirc when I returned something bought on amazon UK (I live in Germany) my return was to amazon DE, so the normal returns procedure applied, it was a couple of years ago so things could have changed.
I got a gore gilet the other week and it was shipped by the German Amazon, I returned it and on posting (to a uk Amazon warehouse) it was refunded in hours of going to the post office (48hr tracked)
When I lived in Europe and ordered from amazon U.K., the item was dispatched from my local amazon site either Germany or Italy at the time and any returns were with them and not through the U.K. side.
I did ask them why this was and they said it was something to do with making sure that the appropriate vat rates were applied corresponding to the country of delivery rather than the country of order.
I would imagine until brexit this will remain the case. After then it may go back to the customs and duty charges on delivery.
Anybody else.
It's a rucksack so may or may not fit, I'd much prefer to send it back for free if I can.
The returns page looks the same as the uk page
