I'm not a huge fan of Amazon but the sister in law lives in Australia and we thought it might be easier to order stuff from an international company for Christmas this year as last year they got stung with import duty.
Anyone any idea how I can filter the results so that only stuff available in Australia is viewed? I'm currently adding stuff to my basket and then its saying it can be posted.
It may have changed but when I was over there a few years ago there was no amazon australia!
It may have changed
It has, literally, just changed. Launched yesterday.
www.amazon.com.au gives you the aussie shop.
Yeah its new, very new.
Other websites that allow us to browse and buy in the UK but deliver from an Australian depot would be appreciated.
They have 3 birthdays and Christmas all withing 10 days so we end up sending loads of stuff and the cost of shipping from UK and the risk of import duty is getting silly.
My sister is in Oz too and was hoping to get stuff from their Amazon, but it was only books a few weeks ago...glad it's just opened up to more products , thanks for the head's up - I've got Lego to buy for my nephew!
as last year they got stung with import duty.
How much did you buy them?!? The limit on imports before duty is payable is about $900, though I think it's being reduced soon
Maybe it wasn't import duty then but they said they had to pay to get it.
3x birthday
5x Christmas
Could be getting close to 900... Blame the wife, it's her family.
