The Fulvia is one of the most beautiful road cars ever made. There is one in an old petrol station showroom near us and when I ride that way often go up to the window to look. A wonderful red. A delicate gem of a car. If I win the lottery I'll go in and make an offer.

As a standard car the Delta is a boring box but thank the Lord the rally beast is timeless, with out knowing what it can do it looks sublime in the Martini Livery. When you see or are lucky enough to hear one 😆 I get the strangest ........

Toivonen was such a tragedy 😥

My dad was a Lancia nut: we had a lovely silver Fulvia when I was a kid.

My Dad also had Lancia in the 70's, It broke catastrophically. A piston exploded up at the bonnet or something, whilst we were on hols in the Lakes.

Yes the Fulvia and Stratos are gems. Both bring back memories of "proper" rallying. That 037 was a beast but it didn't half burn well 🙁

One year there was a road stage of the RAC Rally, which took the cars down the A350 to Longleat, which meant they drove along Hungerdown Lane in Chippenham, before it was bypassed.
A Stratos went past, and I'll swear blind I could hear that car howling for nearly ten minutes, it must have been near Melksham, eight miles away before it's engine was no longer audible.
Proper hairs standing up sound that.

Had a love affair with one of these back in the day, she was a cruel mistress and kept spending too much time with this other guy she knew, who happend to be a mechanic! It had a wood panneled dash, pull switches and mustard coloured upholstry. Engine made a beautiful noise, when it worked...

This recently became mine. Rusts like hell. But she's a beauty.

Lots of work to do, but lucky I know a chap that owes me a favour or seven ...

If you smear vaseline on your specs and squint a bit, looks like an 037 😉

Many years ago I had this. Only 8 valves, but still the best looking car of all time.

The 8v was (is!) a beautiful little road car. You try and find an unmolested 8v these days - very few about.

One day though, I'm going to have to buy a Fulvia.

I've still got the Lancia workshop manual for the 8V. The bloke that sold it to me had re-built it, (and seems to have done a pretty good job). I used to get it serviced at John Whalley in Bishops Stortford. That wasn't cheap.

I sold it to a couple of blokes who had come over from New Zealand to buy one. They were staying a few doors away and spotted me cleaning it. I'm not sure if it made it to New Zealand, but they paid cash so I was happy.

A Delta Integrale came hooning round the lanes the other day when I was out on a ride, heard it long before I saw it, knew I recognised the sound but couldn't quite put my finger on it, then huge grin appeared on my face as the bright red boxy little bugger came scrabbling round the bend and shot off up the hill, not that many about now and always bring a smile to my face when I do see one out and about.

My uncle was a Lancia fan, he had a couple of HPEs and a Spider when I was younger, always lusted after a Delta though 🙂

My father in law has brought one over from Sicily, a 16v integrale HF with about 18k kms on the clock in MINT condition, I've had a quick ride in the passenger seat and it sounds and handles great 🙂
