To be honest my wife has had far too much to drink at lunch and since she is now asleep I was thinking...
If i was to buy a 12v 7aH battery like this
http://www.ecopowersupplies.com/yuasa-np7-12l-batteries?gclid=CKSJhcXj57sCFZPItAodWBIA4g
and 6 MR11 12v led bulbs like this
http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/15-led-mr11-180-lumen-cool-white-ac-dc-2-5w-30w.html
and mount them in 6 respective mr11 down lights in the roof of my garage above the workbench like this
http://www.qvsdirect.com/12v-mr11-fixed-downlight-white
My calcs are as follows.
Battery 12v 7aH
Bulb - 2.16w / 12v = 0.18A per bulb x 6 = 1.08A draw from the bulbs if wired in parallel
1.08A drain on a 7aH battery gives me a 6.48h run time.
each bulb gives me 180 lumens so by my calcs that is a gnats cock over 1000 lumens which should be enough for winter fettling
Battery can be taken back into the house for recharging and a solar panel option could be added later
My question is:
What have I missed?

I think you forgot the home brewing element? Perhaps a nice stout?
It is safe to say all wiring will be done whilst under the influence of a decent ale! Bear jacket and all that! 😀

not looked at all the links but sounds fine to me. Don't let the battery get/stay too low and definitely do the solar charge thing with a charge regulator/cut off thingy.
Cheers. Think i am going to have a punt at this!
