i want to sync my laptop with my microsoft account.to do this you need to get an activation code sent to your e mail address.simple enough i thought (2 weeks ago).

the code never gets sent to my hotmail address,after typing in my hotmail address to send code to.
contact microsoft support team.
first time got moved between support and tech support.ending up with tech support saying that code could take up to 4 days to appear WTF!
well 2 weeks have passed still no code sent.
contacted them again via tech support first.the guy even took over my pc to try and sort the issue (code just doesn't appear in my inbox).eventually he sent me to another support section (not tech). who proceeded to say that i should go to tech support 😡
WTF! i still don't have the sodding code 😡 and get sent round more times than a waltzer 👿

Yes indeed I think you'll find that Mr Gates left MS a number of years ago and is not to blame.
Although I still dislike everything MS I have some admiration for the way Mr G is handing money out now.
OP. I suspect you have done something wrong somewhere as I have not had an issue with this at all. In fact you may even get the option to have the confirmation code texted to you. And I know many, many people who have also done this without issue. That's not to say that there may have been a small glitch this time in your case. However, it also appears that support haven't been as helpful as they could have been. I assume you did give them the proper email address?
On the second note, as has already been pointed out, you also need to keep up if you are going to have a rant. Billy G stepped down as MS chief a decade ago. Although, the incorrect statement above he did not actually leave the company and as part of the passing of the job of big cheese to Satya you will find that Billy G is taking a more formal day a week in the office.

as to typing my email address in wrong though,it was the right address as i always double check it 😉 can get email codes sent from other sites e.t.c no problem.
also the tech guy who took control of my computer couldn't get the code sent to my email address either and he's an expert.
