I see Express Trainers have Lone Peak 5's and 6's for around 55 quid, with the all weather versions for a bit more- has anyone on here used the all weather's and can give some feedback- some reviews suggest that as well as being a bit heavier the fit is smaller for a size. Is there much point in having a low shoe with a waterproof liner? Is the toe box noticeably narrower?

Is that a legit website?  If so that's a good price!  I've not got a pair of Altra's, but I do love zero drop shoes so would be keen to try them out.  I'm not a fan of waterproof liners in shoes (or boots really), makes them hot to wear and there's a great big hole in the top that let's water in anyway.  Better to be lighter weight and easy to dry out in my opinion - especially running off road where getting wet feet is just part of it.

I've got some Lone Peak from 2019:ish. They are not very water resitant, and the water resistant layer is on the outside and started breaking quite quickly (toe joint). They get quite wet just walking through grass fields with dew.

i have a pair of the altra lone peak all weather and they've been used since about october when it basically just started RAINING EVERY BLOODY DAY. i probably do 20-25k/week in parks and on mixed ground with the dog. they are starting to go at the joint between the reinforcement on the toe box on both of them where the material is flexing at that spot. the reinforcement extends further round than it does on the regular ones and i would suggest this is why they go in that spot. reviews do mention it as an issue. having said that i'd buy them again and may even do so when these do finally fail. they are much cooler than goretex lined shoes i've tried (saloman) i think as a result of the already highly breathable nature of altra's shoe fabrics and the use of eVent as the membrane. they do come up very marginally smaller but only like you were wearing a thicker sock - it's not a major difference. if those guys are doing them at 75 less 20% as they suggest i'll probably get a spare pair. i would recommend but be aware of what you're getting. for me they're worth it for much drier feet than i would otherwise have but i just hate having cold wet feet.

I've loved numerous pairs of lone peaks but the waterproof ones are crap they split very easily and are not very flexible either id rather have wet feet tbh
