Mrs OTS has been asked to do some thinking around kit for informal meeting areas.
I'm a fan of MS Surface Hubs, but they are expensive and I know there are better alternatives out there.
So starting with a big telly and a HDMI cable, up to 80" MS Surface Hub, what is there in the middle ground that could give smart board and video conferencing (Skype for Business-esque services) options.
Links with prices would be very welcome 🙂
TIA
avocor do some nice kit
same premise as the surface hub ie 100+ touch points and windows 10 inside
3.5 - 5k and upwards
we sell them give us a bell on 07564347413
if shes in education or looking at quantity it could be cheaper
I set up a small 'portable' system for someone that was:
55in monitor on a rolling stand - about 1000EUR
logitech meetup webcam - about 1000EUR
Intel NUC with wireless keyboard as the Skype for Business host computer - about 400EUR
Overall it works nicely and the logitech meetup webcam is fantastic. Still not cheap though and none of this is touchscreen - it's basically just a way to share screens. I was amused to go to someone else's office recently and find a very similar setup but with a cheaper 130EUR logitech cam instead. It works ok but not as well as the big beast. Really depends on what you want to do
Thanks guys, I'll do some looking.
Have a look at the Google Jamboard, haven’t used them myself but look a lot more affordable than the Surface Hub and I say that as someone who has 3 of them (1x80” and 2x55”)
Those Barco Clickshare things are ace, though not sure they fit the OP requirements.
If you can forgo the smart board functionality (which unless its already in use can be difficult to get buy in from users on) a cheap high quality Skype / Hangouts type conferencing unit can be built with a quality display on a trolley and something like BiAmps' Devio unit - this can cover display, mic and speakers and web cam over a single USB connection. Very flexible, and their beam forming mic is fantastic.
EDIT: Went with NEC panels and Devio in our office build, with full integration to the room using this as the basis, but we've built some units to 'roll around' like this which have worked really well.
