For some reason, I cant link my I-pod to i tunes anymore, and its really annoying me. Is there any alternatives? I'm sure i heard that there are.

I had an issue with my ipod touch with synching - I think Apple had rewritten a USB driver which just killed it. I looked long and hard for an itunes replacement and never really found anything that seemed as though it would work properly. Have you tried all of the various 'factory' resets you can do? Have you tried using a different USB socket?
I've had problems in the past and found deleting the config files in your user settings somewhere in /User Data or where ever it is fixed it (there were two xml files if I recall correctly).
try apple.support.com there's a chunk in there about resolving iPod problems. other programs won't make it easy for you to use music purchased on iTunes.
