I'm looking to get a new down gilet jacket and really like the look of the Alpkit one. I see it's not available right now so hoping to find one second hand.

Looking at the sizing, I'm trying to work out which will be better between small and medium size. Looking at the Alpkit sizing chart I'm bang in the middle of both sized. I'm a 38" chest and would normally buy medium in most clothing but would be wanting the gilet to fit snugly over another top like a fleece.

Anyone got one of these jackets that can pass on their thoughts on sizing to go for?

Cheers 🙂

PS. If you have one of these for sale, email is in profile

As a 38"-ish-chested-medium-sized-Alpkit-gilet-owner I'd say that medium should be OK. Mine fits over a base layer + fleece pretty well - snug enough not to be flapping about, but not so tight as to be restrictive.

Hope that helps and you mange to track one down.

39" here and I'd say get a small. If it helps I'm 5'8".

I bought mine recently 2nd hand but unused for £50 off of here. It's bloody lovely.

38" here, 5'9" and have the Alpkit small - perfect fit for me.

I'm also 5'9 so sounds like a small would be best - thanks
