Just looking at getting one of these, I have a few bits of alpkit kit and its been good to me.

It would be mostly used for day trips out walking.

Are the Gourdon bags comfortable to wear?

Reasonably comfortable. I've done plenty of long walks with it. It's a cheap rucksack so if I was carrying anything heavy I would get something better. If you are jst carrying lunch, coat map etc. then it'll be fine. If you are going to load it full of water, camera equipment and rocks then I think it might lack the high standards you'd want.

Use mine for climbing, walking and MTB.

Superb bag for petty much anything, really.
Very comfy as weight sits high, extremely tough, weighs nowt.
Can take a 3ltr bladder.
Only problem I've had is that the straps slip when fully loaded.

Have bough a new one and the strap fabric has changed, but it's narrower too.
Not tried it fully loaded yet.
