What a great life it is.
In my first week, I've met eveyone who introduced themselves, been given nearly 100sqm of tarpaulin to cover it (kill the grasses), given 3 raised beds to get going, given loads of plants to plant in first beds, lent oil drums, tools, and no-one would accept a penny.
Everyone is thoroughly pleasant. What a lovely existence!
Best of all I get to start shopping for a shed! 🙂
As soon as you turn your back tho they'll be scoffing your strawberries!
I do wonder if it's some sort of trap, and I will end up as topsoil.
More likely you'll end up on the compost heap 🙁
They tend to be a friendly bunch, I've started getting spuds, beet and loads of salad. It tastes amazing.
Shed wise get either a cheap and nasty one and store nothing expensive, or go for a old freight container and a big lock 😉
Allotment life is amazing, If only everyone in life had the same share/help/give/love in life 😉
Aye, I've been given peas, carrots, garlic and courgettes; makes you wonder what the hell you're eating from supermarkets!
alternativley, someon started planting/ diggin on our plot, our poly tunnel was burnt down and my wife was reguarly threatened by the guy who used to have our plot (but never paid). The heroin users thanked me for the sharps bin though.
