No, GP5000 is still pretty much the best (fastest) daily road tyre. Vittoria Corsa Pros are on the same level but tan walls only I believe. Michelin Power Cups are also excellent but there was some consternation about the tread width being too narrow for wide wheels (over 21mm internally) so you could give them a try if you wheels are narrow. I have used them and they do ride better that a GP5000, were cheaper when I bought them too. Probably less aero being completely smooth.

30mm should be standard in the UK anyway, IMO. Rolls faster over rough roads and the bigger contact patch means more confidence in corners or in poor conditions.

It's often cheaper to buy from BikeInn and the like, but it really depends if there's any offers on. GP5000 were cheap in the UK before Christmas but they seem to have gone back up to almost RRP last time I checked (a couple of weeks ago).

I like the schwalbe pro one too in 28mm. Currently cheap at merlin in tan wall if that's your thing.

I've moved from GP5000 to Pirelli P-Zero tyres (28mm). Prefer the Pirellis, but would go for 30mm next time. Used on all road surfaces, even nasty broken up ones.

I’ve usually used GP 5000 28. Are there any others to consider? Not racing but looking for durability now I suppose. Also going to ride the Strada Bianchi route in June so should i consider 30?

I think GP5000 are some of the best tyres out there, I use them all year round.

However, they are not great for durability, I normally get 5,000 - 6,000 km out of them, before the wear markers have gone. I get through two sets a year normally.

+1 vittoria tyres; well worth a look, Mrs Kilo has the Pave tyres on her best road bike and they are really good and long lasting.

Donnelly Strada are another good fast tyre but they can be hard to get hold of and you’d have to check sizes as we both are still on 25c being old folk.

I run GP5000 AS (in 32mm) over winter - comfort is key for me 🙂

GP5000 come up quite big, my 28s are considerably wider than a 28 Vittoria Corsa Pro. They work really well with latex or TPU tubes (almost the same CRR as the STR version).

I’m running conti gp 4 seasons, in 32mm flavour, they roll well and ride beautifully.

only done a few miles on them, so can’t speak for durability though.

After the GP5000 got cut up by the flinty shit roads around here I went for the Vittoria Rubino Pro Graphene 2.0 to get a bit more durability and they have felt plenty good enough for road riding and are lasting well. They may not be the fastest but aint far off.

Also not as pricy as the gp5000.

Most recently been on Pirelli Cinturato 28c which are pretty robust and have lasted well, not the lightest though.  A mate rides the P-Zeros in 28c and likes them.

Stealth ad - if anyone wants a set of Rubino Pros in 25c width drop me a message.  I have a brand new unridden set that have been swapped out (for GP5000 28c) on my new bike I’ll probably not use so happy to let go for a good price.

Been using a pair of these in all conditions over the last few years.  Just bought another pair to replace them with as I've been happy with them and Merlin had them at a decent price.  Only 25mm in stock though.

With the state of the roads I'd go heavier duty either way. I'm about 5000km into some Hutchinson Fusion5 Storm 28s - had about 2 flats. Not set up tubeless either

GP5000 All Seasons are good but pricey. Less spendy choice in Michelin Pro4 Endurance.

Yeah I'm running these now. They're durable, grippy and relatively cheap.
