I guess hiking style boots- leather that are recognised as great but don't have silly 'goretex etc etc' written on them.
No I don't want paratrooper/ex-army boots 😐
Brasher Hillmaster GTX. Super comfy once once you've worn them in.
Have a pair of those Brashers. If you're looking for warm/higher/waterproof boots, then, check out Sorel stuff. Proper manly boots they are (which is what you want hora...isn't it?) 🙂
DD how do you know me sooo well? 8)
Edit: Sorel? You'd have me looking like a gay eskimo?
I can tuck my jeans inside my Sorels hora. Imagine how that feels. When I walk through the park, women are swept away with the wave of testosterone. 8)
Then they see little Molly. 😐
You call your old chap little Molly DD? That's all kinds of wrong 😕
😆
Fleck off you.
Karrimors from Sports Direct/TK Maxx.
Their boots are still really high quality and usually very good value.
HiTech are good for urban use and very light, but too flexy for proper hillwalking.
Don't bother with Meindl or the newer Brashers, IME they fall apart very quickly. Shame, both used to be really well made.
If you want proper quality and are prepared to pay for it, get some Altbergs.
If you buy them from the factory you can stop off for a ride in Swaledale on your way home. 🙂
Better than shouting 'bingo get the **** here' (in the park)
Karrimors from Sports Direct/TK Maxx
Hmm, tried some Karrimors and they fell apart very quickly. I'm definitely not one for the "right" brands are better, but I wouldn't buy Karrimors again.
Did get some Rohan boots from TK Maxx after the Karrimors died and they are superb. £30 and they show no signs of crumbling.
Wipe clean though.
Could be perfect for him.
