I'm re-installing the downlighters in our newly skimmed landing ceiling.

The landing is the same width for 2/3 of it's length but then gets wider at one end where there is a set of stairs and some doorways.
Am I right in saying that I find the mid-point between walls 1 and 2 at the narrower end and fit the lights along this line (A) and ignore the bit were it gets wider (B), so that at this end the lights will actually be not on the centreline?

I'd want them centered at B as that will put one nearer the top of the stairs. But then it wouldn't bother me if those in A and B didn't line up.

Actually there are a couple of lights over the stairs anyway Scotty so I think I'll go with aligned to A.

Thanks guys... just checking I wasn't making a mistake with a hole saw!

Could you install a fine matrix of LEDs across the whole ceiling?

That will enable you to fine-tune your lighting to suit your needs from moment to moment, and, with only a little more work, lie on your back and play Pong.
