Is there anyway around this?  I guess not but having found something at £25 that's normally £260 I'd like to know if there is!

Have you checked the settings on the site? If you aren't logged in it sometimes jumps to thinking you are in Hungary and want to pay in dollars or some such. Once you set it to UK and pounds the item is suddenly ok to ship

Reset the settings as weirdly there was no country selected.  Now the item is greyed out of my cart.

'This item can't ship to United Kingdom'

I guess it's not a real item for sale at that price and they hope having got me to AliExpress I buy some other tat.  Do people do that?  Oh that autofocuser doesn't ship to the UK.  Never mind,  I'll buy 10 fidget spinners instead.

I've had some great introductory offers on there. You can only buy one of the item but a good deal. Got a nice bike light for under £1. Yes there are some dodgy things on there but the old "seems too good to be true..." doesn't always apply.

I paid 5e for a handle bar an EU based retailer was selling over 10 times that. Bits for Bromptons are often better thought out and better quality for a fraction of the price. It maybe because the goods transit via Holland (EU) so they don't do UK because of the complication.

Or, alternatively, they're ripoffs of existing third party parts. Not saying that's always the case but for niche products it usually is.

Brexit, the Tories or Trump would be the usual answer.

I'm not aware of any suppliers of 7-speed cassettes, shifters, derailleurs and hubs with 110mm Brompton spacing other than far east suppliers, Sqirrelking. Likewise for handlebars for Bromptons with non-standard raises (Brompton has just two options, flat or high rise,  I found a bar on Ali half way between). If anything Brompton copies the far east makers of aftermarket accessories for their "innovations". Titanium parts, they were on Ali first, proper derailleurs, they were on Ali first, decent racks, they were on Ali first, proper wheels with bearings to push the folded bike around, Ali first.

I get that message until I log in, then it's fine.

Well your first list is just standard parts (hubs excepted) rather than actual Brompton parts.

The second is the third party Brompton specific conversion kits and accessories that have been copied by far east manufacturers I was referring to.
