I had the same drill but badged up differently. It was OK - fine for light use around the house but I broke it drilling out a fatty rim with a hole saw. Limited battery life so it would suck if you wanted to do a bigger job. Aldi do a 3 year warranty so if you want a cheap drill this would be the one to get.
If you like nice tools, or plan on doing a big job I'd be saving my pennies for a better quality tool from Bosch/Makita/DeWalt etc.
No, but if you can get a look at the instructions and other bumpf there should be a declaration of conformity that will tell you who made it. The Samsung battery is a good thing
Currently have a makita drill and the batteries now last about a minute.
Had it about 3 years , so thinking buy cheap buy twice is a better strategy.
Bought the same drill about 3 months ago lasted 20 minutes, returned and refunded.
I now have an Hitachi 18v Drill and Impact driver £145, very impressed, better than previous Makita.
I got a similar cheap one from Lidl.
It's OK for the money but nowhere near the quality of the Bosch one I have.
TBF to that Workzone stuff, I found it to be pretty good quality for the money but generally you get what you pay for.
Yup, I have one, had it three years or so and it's been used heavily while doing up my house in France, plasterboarding, frame making, general drill driver duties, got the money they're good and have a three year warranty, photo your receipt and email it to yourself with tags so you can search for it in the future, I have a cordless angle grinder which uses the same batteries too, again another good handy tool.
Thomas Nagy, YouTube Spark, bought the cheapest 14v Lithium battery drill that Amazon do, something like £22. He was full of praise for the thing after trying several times to facilitate its demise.
against my better judgement i just ordered an erbauer drill and impact driver from screwfix. was intending to go bosch but spotted the twin pack for £110. then noticed the brushless twin pack for £140 but in the end went separate for another £30 to get 2 more batteries and a spare fast charger. apparently they are the same as the "20v" worx batteries so spares for the hydroshot and a faster charger.
someone please tell me if they are shit before i pick them up!
I got an erbaur on the recommendation of a couple of builder friends. Not the
ultimate professional choice but perfectly adequate for the home user. Mine works great all the drill I'll ever need.
B&Q do a Bosch one with two batteries for under £60 usually. Excellent bit of kit.
It's badged as all sorts. I bought a 'Guild' from Argos - it had Samsung batteries (good) but munched it's own gearbox after three uses.
I've bought a (blue) Bosch one now. Twice the price (£85) but imo a much, much better drill and it should last longer.
someone please tell me if they are shit before i pick them up!
I suspect that that, and the Aldi drill, are made by Positec, whose own-brand is Worx. No idea what the comparative quality is, all I know is that the Worx stuff I've got has been fine even after some heavy use. It would be interesting to see if the Aldi batteries fit into a Hydroshot; if they do it's a fairly cheap (albeit warranty-defeating) source of spare batteries!
I have the same device as the OP, but badged Titan, from Screwfix. I think it was £55 or so. The Aldi one is identical. I would buy it again. The Aldi one has been on sale recently for £34.99. I was discussing it with another customer about how good value that was for a drill with 2 batteries. We both already has one...
Going on my own experience and reading those above I'm of the opinion that the Aldi cordless drills are a bit hit and miss. I managed to get 2 months out of the one I bought before it just packed up , lucky for me a mate was upgrading all his 24v Makita stuff for 36v and gave me one of his old ones with a few spare batteries.

I had that one, the drill's good but the batteries are only OK and the charger is shit. I got fed up returning them and got a refund, which I suppose actually is pretty good since I bascially had a free hire of a drill for almsot 2 years
I did just see a Bosch 18v blue drill with 2x 4Ah batteries for £100, which is what Id have bought if I didnt get the same with 1.5Ah batteries a few weeks ago

Though Id probably have got the Aldi one at the time if I had found one. IIRC it was the charger reviews that put me off
Yeah I have that Aldi drill, only lightly used it in the couple of years since I bought it but was still fine the other day. I'd probably go for something more spendy if I was going to be using it a lot though.
