I've not used Manchester airport for years so clueless about parking options. I've had a quick glance at the official parking which is steep!  I'll bite the bullet though if there are no better options?  I can Google of course, but thought I'd tap in to the STW knowledge base first to cut through the chaff.  Friday morning flight returning on the Monday afternoon.

I now use the Jetparks 3 parking and get the bus to the terminal - best price and the bus always appears pretty quickly.

Usually Quidco and other discounts available for airport parking websites. Only you can decide on whether off airport discounts are worth the additional hassle. Also, young kids, loads of bags??

Which terminal? And how much luggage/kids etc?

If you can park somewhere between Disley and Stockport, there's a local bus (the 199) which goes out to the airport, it's very regular but the earliest one gets you there about 5am so if you're on a ridiculously early budget airlines flight, it's no good.

The Jetparks option is fine, I've used it a few times recently. Do not be tempted by any "discount" options, there's always stories in the local rag about cowboy outfits operating around there who'll leave your car in a field or take it for a drive. I refuse to use any form of Meet & Greet now, even the supposedly official ones.

Always found the meet and greet to be pretty comparable, few quid more but so much less hassle! Last time we used MCR it was only a 5er more to use the multi storey right outside departures/arrivals! Struck that one lucky when we booked it I guess.

Booked airport parking through topcashback for Liverpool last year, it was a meet and greet offer, but it was a scam! No chauffeur arrived to collect the car. Luckily got a lady minute spot at nearby drop off point with minimal hassle.

Lesson being make sure whoever you book through is legit, even if linking via topcashback or the like!!

I parked here for 8 days. Behind a gate, 5 minutes walk to the metro just before the airport

Thanks all, loads of options! I've booked Jetpark 3 for a reasonable price after getting a good discount with my defence discount card.

We've tried all the options and now use the onsite Meet and Greet, it's worth the cost to just drive up and dump the motor and it be waiting outside when we get back.

That said, we are risking the train in March for snowboarding, wish us luck...

Is that the Same as Purple parking? I've used purple parking a few times, not sure if its cheapest but hassle free, one time it was to park in jetparks 3, and another time it was jetparks 1, I think, but its not called jetparks 1, it's just called Jetparks, or jetparks ringway just to be confusing IIRC as they have 3 self park carparks nearby and then just jump on the shuttle.

Are purple parking a middle man I wonder, and you can book direct with jetparks?

never heard of Purple parking..... Jetparks 3 is one of the options when you get parking prices on the man airport web site.

Edit: Although it's a 'middle man' it's the same price as I get via the MA web site.

Ahh it looks like they are nationwide so probably take a comission... I'll have to check next time if it's cheaper to book direct!

You can book with Jet park direct, but I went with a broker/middleman (SkyParkSecure) because of a discount code I had. Despite their booking fee it was still cheaper than booking direct via the Jet park website.

I just follow the links to FHR and Holiday Extras from https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-airport-parking/

Then choose the combination of price, convenience and reputation that I'm willing to pay. Never found a cheaper way.

Purple parking have their own buses at Manchester so must have their own car park but don't know where it is.

Used this company in January.   https://www.airportparkmanchester.co.uk/

Apart from their minibus not being quite big enough for the numbers of people needing a lift back to the airport at the same time so had to wait 20mins for the driver to do a round trip couldn't fault them - car park seemed nice and staff friendly.
