Really wanted some airpod pro2 to get some peace at home with the noise cancelling. Am somewhat disappointed by the anc especially after seeing so many rave reviews. Can still hear house noise, but worse for me is the constant ‘hiss’ in the background with anc on. It’s even worse in adaptive mode, like a gentle breeze blowing. My wife can’t hear it in noise cancelling mode but does in adaptive mode.(but her hearing isn’t great)
Apple have been great and quickly replaced the earbuds after a support chat, however they still do it.
Is this something that earbuds with ANC do? I can’t listen with this noise, and am looking at alternatives but don’t want to bother with noise cancelling if they all do this.
Any experiences with AirPods doing this or other brands?
I've got Samsung buds pro and Google pixel buds pro and I can't say I've noticed it on either. My ears were usually pretty sensitive to such things.
Take them back to Apple again they’ll test them. Just had my Pro 1s replaced after 2 years because they had a fault.
My Jabra do this with anc (hear-through) on. I don’t always notice it, but when I do it’s annoying.
If you’re talking about AirPod Pro v2 this is definitely not correct. I can go to sleep with them on ANC mode with no music on. No background hiss or any noise to speak of.
The ANC as far as I can tell is as / more effective than the Bose ANC headphones I had before them.
Yes v2. It’s more noticeable with transparency and is low level on anc but drives me crazy - certainly couldn’t sleep with it.
As suggested above I could return them again but I have to mail in as no Apple Store nearby, and having done it once have limited faith in another set being better and then start to run out of time to return them.
