Living on the Welsh Boarders our internet is frankly rubbish, we currently get about 8mbps on a good day.
Airband have just installed Fibre down our road with promises of speeds up to 300mbps and and guaranteed minimum of 50mbps
Has anyone had any involvement with them or know how good they are?
The bit that worries me is that they say up to 5 days turnaround on issues.

We have their over the air service. That has been OK but a long way short of amazing, in that we have had quite a lot of outages. I would hesitate to recommend it. I don't recall them taking more than a day to fix anything but sometimes a few hours out is annoying, especially when it starts to feel like a regular occurrence. What this means for fibre I suspect not much. We get outages for mast issues and some shaky service in bad weather, and I presume those things won't happen generally with fibre.
Their customer service has similarly been OK but not the greatest, you can at least email them and expect someone will read it.
Our friends run a campsite with Airband Fibre (Herefordshire). They've had an excellent experience both in terms of the service and the support after the initial install. That didn't go quite so well.
Local village had Airband Over The Air and that as @luket said was pretty average at best.
Our village is being wired up at the moment. Not live yet, so no experience of reliability/support, but they've been very responsive to our views on all the telegraph poles they wanted to put up, agreed to rework the plan, and use existing poles where they can.

We decided to go ahead, but the install is certainly proving taxing. Poor comms, but seen x 2 vans pull up outside the house in the last week but yet no date confirmed for installation
Are Airband installing or is it Open Reach (or another sub con)?
We have FTTP originally installed by Open Reach for BT, but now Airband have access to the network we could take them as a provider. We had a flyer through the door with a 'fixed price for the life of the contract' offer that looked pretty good, but nobody local has any experience of them.
Herefordshire borders and i think there is an Airband over air service around here but we don't have it.

Open Reach do not have anything to do with AirBand (or so the local Open Reach guy has told us)
It has been AirBand branded vans that have turned up to ours, and when I spoke to their customer services they said they have their own engineers.
I believe Open Reach is a 2 day SLA. AirBand is 5 day which is a bit worrying
However our neighbours have been on the over air broadband for 2 yrs and never had issues, they are just swapping to fibre too ( I think )
