Child has put on their Xmas list and I've just had a WTF! HOW MUCH! moment.

Any decent quality alternatives for non-international paperclip salesman type budgets? Ideally still a 'cool' brand so kid is not a social pariah as a result of my tightwad tendencies?

My lad has the Samsung buds, work really well - and look a lot better than the Air Pods (which seem to me to be a "ooh look what I've got!" design)
They're around £100 at the mo. But someone got a free set last week, cos the little monkey left his on the train!
£100 is not cheap, I know, but we tried budget ones and they just didn't work properly. Not worth the faff.

bluearsedflyno1 was saving for some ‘proper’ earpods before settling on some of the amazon copies.

I wasn’t expecting much for £25 but they look the part, sound half decent and pass the schoolyard swoon test. They even show up as earpods when connecting to them with an iPhone.

There's a review of earbuds on Chase Reeves' YouTube channel. Not much use for choosing earbuds, but entertaining as always 🙂

If your very fast Jabra are doing 20% off ending tonight- I bought some 65t Active earbuds for £135*.   Very good reviews.

*Might be aimed any PaperClip salesman level of budget but worth the PSA

I believe the Creative Outlier Air's have good reviews,

https://uk.creative.com/p/headphones-headsets/creative-outlier-air

And even better they are on sale at the Creative store online, half the price of any already discounted Air pods and without the Tampax string hanging down your earhole.

I was discussing this with someone the other day. These have got great reviews all over the place:

They're not the noise-cancelling type, but are great at everything else apparently.

... Just looked at the Creatives posted above me - they seem like an outstanding bargain. I've used plenty of Creative stuff before and it's always been top quality.
Forget what I wrote, I'd go for those.

I've got these. Sound perfectly fine to me and the box charges them umpteen times and has a usb out to charge your phone.

Air Pods aren't great for sound (for the money) so I'm guessing this is more in the wanting the 'cool' option for the playground rather than many of the suggestions here. In which case sorry I have no idea, beware of some of the rip-off Air Pods on Amazon though, a few have tested very poorly - not sure if any are actually decent (and whether or not wearing knock-off air pods is worse, in the playground cool stakes, than a middle-aged IT manager brand suggestion).

I;ve had some of these since June. Been absolutely faultless for the price. Been used in the gym, running, in the office.
The only problem you might have is that they're not white. Or branded. But they are good.
