Very sad, a real stand out actress through my earlier years and a great soap character to have grown up with - a good innings at 95 but RIP June Brown.

Yeah, made it to 95, had a full life and only in the last few years suffered from health issues, always amazes me how these soap stars basically become their character to the fans, you tell folk June Brown passed away and a lot will wonder who, you say Dot Cotton, they can all visualise her!

I'm no soap fan, but the monologue episode was an acting masterclass.

Just Dot, and 30 minutes of story. Quite a brave move for a soap.

Oddly, Dot Cotton the answer to a clue in the Sunday Times general knowledge crossword on Sunday too.

I had no idea she was still alive! Thought she'd died years ago....

Our local gig venue used to have a LGBT disco thing regularly called "The Dot Cotton Fan Club" IIRC....
