when I were a lad of 13 (27yrs ago) Drakkar Noir was the smell to have ! wonder if id like it now ?
What were yours ?
nil points to anyone that says old spice or brut !
Jazz
Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent
My brother used to swear by Jazz by Yves St Laurent & Joop.
All the kids at my school used to splash Cool Water about like their life depended on it.
First aftershave I think I wore was 212 Caroline Herrera....
Tabac.
However, keeping it old fashioned, I still use Eau Sauvage.
Blue stratos, it attracted the Mrs cos it smelt like gin.
Paco Rabanne used to get sloshed all over the place....
212 Caroline Herrera was my first one as well, now running Blu de Chanel which is popular with the other half
Edit: I've just remembered when Lynx released an aftershave. You required a gas mask in my high school for the next six months to cope with it
Old spice and .....
Brut 33
Or Denim
my Dad still uses that.
I remember pinching some of my Dad's Kouros
I smelt it again not long ago, jeez it's strong 😯

Never used aftershave!
Saw some Old Spice in Colorado recently, didn't know it was still made!
Remember those old brands though.
I was going to say Eau Savage until flashy says he still uses it!!!!
Dunhill Edition. It's discontinued now... 🙁
Polo Sport
Old Spice. <- I still use this.
Tabac.
Brut. <- I still use this.
😀
Kouros
Polo Sport
Lagerfeld
Davidoff Cool Water
to name but a few. Not always all together though!
There was always a character in the pub selling something off cheap, generally whatever the local Boots had on the shelves at the time oddly enough.
Aramis
Sex Panther
Old Spice. <- I still use this as an alcohol based cleaning solution
I drank half a bottle of Insignia Rio for a bet way back in the mid 90s.
Just typing the name brings back the terrible smell and taste, it was with me for a good few days at the time, unlike the contents of my stomach shortly after downing it...
Many of those old classics don't smell the same as they did back in the 60s and 70s because the muppets in Brussels have outlawed some of the more interesting raw materials, nitro-musks for example. That's also the reason why women's perfumes are smelling more and more the same nowadays.
Kouros was the fist aftershave developed for the embryonic gay market (at the time)
Paco Rabanne was the Iranin students "poof water" of choice when I was at Uni
I was a Denim/ Blue Stratos man (for men who think they are seagulls)
Whate ever happened to Crabtree and Evelyn?
All the perfumes are smeeling similar, not because of outlawed raw materials, but because everyon eis competing for the same demographic groups and trying to match each others scents ... it's a bit like X Factor - appeal enough to a large enough range and you get something really bland.
The only stand out stuff at the moment is from Thierry Muegler ... and that smells plain nasty
Paco Rabanne
Mandate
Still got most of mine from the 80s/90s cos I hardly ever wear smelly
Escape - Calvin Klein
Antaeus - Canal
Activist - Body Shop
Wings - Giorgio Beverley Hills
Kouros was the fist aftershave
The mind boggles. 😯
And eyes would water !
Whate ever happened to Crabtree and Evelyn?
Still going.
I have their Lime cologne and love wearing it in the summer.
Joop is still going and still popular.
I use to like XS which of course is still going these days it's Bleu de Chanel.
Rohypnol
Vetiver de Puig.
All a bit modern those. Creed Green Irish Tweed, though it's a bit pricy now.
Lacoste, the original in the square green bottles with the white panel on the front. A nice strong manly scent, but not "old", but kind of sporty.
These days I understand the smell of choice is Boss bottled, but I find most of the present day scents far blander than older scents used to be.
