Heading for home after a bike-ride today I was craving a fried egg sarnie.
Got home to find no bread available, only crumpets...
Well, after eating runny fried eggs on crumpets with a splash of soy sauce and black pepper I don't think I'll bother with sarnies ever again!!

Poached egg on buttered toasted crumpet for the win.

I've just consumed: chocolate digestive, hommous and pitta, raw granola... more to go!

I imagine crumpets would soak up an egg quite nicely. Beans on toast for me, with a good wedge of cheese. Any/all salted peanuts in the house are at risk too…

Today’s was a toasted ‘mocha hot cross bun,

The little chocolate bits melt into the butter. Obscenely good. Shame it was a pre-cycling munchie as now I keep looking at the bike vs another bun

Eggy crumpets.

You're welcome.

toasted ‘mocha hot cross bun,

Has anyone tried the chocolate orange hot cross buns from Sainsbury’s? They’re a bit special!

Pretty much anything that can't outrun me today.

And my ride finished at 15.30 yesterday....

This thought has never entered my brain before but my minds blown! I need more details... is it like eggy bread or just scrambled egg with crumpets?

Post ride I normally get home too late for a snack so wait for dinner and its a recovery shake and nothing else.

Back when I was doing lots of hours training for endurance stuff, the last couple of hours of every ride were spent thinking about food. Mainly hot dogs, or toasted malt loaf.

Be careful with the toasted malt loaf though, it goes from slightly warm to on-fire in about 30 seconds. There's an ideal window when it's just crispy enough without having gone black.

Like eggy bread, but extra scrambled egg for the win. Original post was meant to say "make eggy bread" 🤦‍♂️

Carb cupboard. Scone and spiced bun this evening. The correct answer is a long sleep. That’s the Sean Yates diet method.

I know this one:

1. Serrated steak knife

or

2. Victorinox serrated paring knife

or

3. Try butter knife until squashes loaf flat, then resort to tearing chunks from loaf with fingers

or

4. Hold entire loaf in one hand and eat it with teeth while using other hand for intermittently spreading/prepping loaf with butter ready for the next bite.

Oven chips in oven.
Shower and dress.
Eat chips with Nandos Hot Chilli mayo.
Don't knock it you haven't tried it.

Just having beans on top of toast, butter (real butter), marmite with black pepper on top. Oh, and a cup of tea!

Most are food that I used to eat in the far east ...

Dim Sum
Noodles
Satay
Chinese roast pork/duck/chicken
Grilled fish
etc ...

Since I cannot get the above Fish & Chips will do.

5 pints of isotonic cider and a packet of pork scratchings.

(Usually mid ride actually)

Start at the fridge, work your way to the left or right in search of further sustenance.

You'll then use your smörkniv.

Bread knife and a fast action.

For Gods sake don't suggest that, WCA might be lurking 😯 He's already got one injured finger.

Our midweek ride often finishes with this but ale rather than cider and you need a few bags of ready salted in there too.

After my lunch ride I had Hot Cross Bun sandwiches with a Pork Chipolata & Ketchup filling.

Bloody ace.
