After the above - not looking to spend a lot really,, but would love some over the top footage for biking, playing football and kayaking.

Hmm, tricky price point and most drones at that level will not have a rotating gimble meaning you cannot shoot downward. They would also not have object tracking so you would need to control it all the time.
Battery life and range are other potential concerns at this price point - there are some great ones for just messing about with and taking basic forward-facing footage though. My money would be on the a Ryze Tello. The boy has one and its great 🙂

Out of interest what the budget for an entry-level one with gimbal, object tracking etc?
I have been looking at the DJI Mini 2 found reviews excellent and seems really simple to use, the camera seems to work really well from the reviews.
