Hi has anyone done these two Munro's on a MTB bike. Is it worth doing? If yes what is the best way to do it. I don't mind hike a bike as long as the descent is good. Thanks for any advice.
Perhaps not quite what you were looking for http://fatbiking.eu/five-fat-4000ers/
That, Mr Whitestone , is as impressive as ****!!
I think the best way would be from the south via Corrour, its certainly been done this way although not by me. It would be a good day out but it would be down to personal preference / ability whether it was worth it in terms of quality descent v amount of hike a bike.
I was up Ben Macdui last weekend and was looking at the path from Corrour up to Cairn Toul. It is very steep so maybe not so good for descending, as the altitude will be lost quickly. The descent from Braeriach looks longer and less steep (on the map at least). Question is how much is ridable. @whitestone it is impressive!!!!
Actually the descent off the plateau below Cairn Toul to Corrour is really good, if short; top section is very steep and loose however. For me the pathless 800m hike up or down between Macdui and Corrour would spoil the whole experience.
